Dreaming of the place to drop anchor in the Caribbean? Search no longer! Ray Caye offers unbeatable private island mooring opportunities...

Our picturesque home country of Belize is a truly breathtaking destination, no matter whether you're exploring by land or sea. Yet given that it sits in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea and is home to a network of over 450 isolated cayes and palm-studded islands, it undoubtedly makes for a yachters dream. Ray Caye is one such palm-studded island, located just 18 miles from Placencia Village in southern Belize, where the sailing ground is dotted with low-lying sandy cayes and some of the best snorkeling you'll find in the country. Here, yachters can surround themselves with untouched nature and crystalline waters, all while taking full advantage of favorable trade winds that stretch from Mexico, along the coast of Belize, to Guatemala.

As with all yachting excursions, finding the perfect spot to drop anchor can be one of the most important elements of a successful vacation. But, search no more, as Ray Caye offers several ideal mooring spots allowing sailing enthusiasts to embrace the open water and utilize our luxury island facilities!

Yacht owners docking or mooring at our island can take full advantage of our island amenities. Perhaps your sea legs need some pampering? In which case, come and visit our Wellness Center and book a massage with one of our experienced therapists. Alternatively, you may want to just sit back and relax with a cooling cocktail and a freshly-cooked meal at Lionfish Grill while you catch a satisfactory glimpse of your boat sitting on the horizon!

If you have some time to spare, then why spend just one day with us? If you've sailed to Belize and want a change of scenery from your cabin, drop anchor and make your way to our shores to stay in one of our island cabanas or luxury suites for a few nights. All accommodation options offer well-appointed comfort, and all the luxuries you need to unwind after your time at sea. You'll be able to relax by our pool, enjoy dining at both of our island restaurants, and explore our adventure tour offerings. Dive or snorkel at Glovers Reef, Gladden Spit and the Silk Cayes, or try your hand at a fishing excursion with one of our experience Tour Guides.

Finally, if you're not a boat owner but are planning to charter a yacht in Belize, ask your crew to add a few days at Ray Caye onto your trip! Below, you'll find a map featuring several island mooring coordinates situated around Ray Caye. Should you require more information on how to moor at our island, simply get in touch!

In 2019 Hatchet Caye changed its name to Ray Caye. Because of this, some of the older blog posts will refer to Hatchet Caye and the newer ones will refer to Ray Caye. Either way, they are the same private island you have come to love.
