Jefe's Island Adventures: Top Ten Things I Love At Ray Caye Resort in Belize!

Don't tell, but I often sneak in the office when nobody is around. Recently, even though I'm "just a dog," I even figured out how to surf the internet. And one of the things I noticed is how popular “Top Ten” lists have become. They’re everywhere on the web, and they’ve inspired me to create my own. So here's my first,

"Top Ten Things I Love At Ray Caye Resort."

The Food: Of course--the food! I will admit, I’ve had some pretty awesome meals in some pretty exotic locations while I was living the lifestyle of the “world’s most interesting dog.” But the culinary creations here at our Lionfish Grill are still the best I’ve had anywhere.

The Accommodations:  Pairing bright, spacious rooms with ultra-comfy beds and linens, then adding in spectacular views and luxurious amenities, is our specialty here. Combined with the sound of the waves caressing the beach, and the faint light of the moon spilling through the blinds, it provides for a supremely restful slumber.

Smiling Faces: It seems everyone on the island, from day visitors and guests to staff, and even myself sometimes, just can’t stop smiling. Relaxation and happiness just seems to be contagious here.

Fishing, Diving, And Snorkeling:  Whether you prefer one activity over the other, or all three, there’s plenty of opportunity to do it all right from our own Pirate Reef Dive shop. Myself, I prefer just fishing from the shore.

Catamarans, Pedal Boats, Kayaks, Paddle Boards: Anytime someone wants to try a different type of non-motorized water sport, the staff members are happy to teach them how to do any, or all, of these things. And being on the water is just so much fun!

Spa Treatments: Our guests can get all the massages, facials, body scrubs, and rest and rejuvenation they crave, without ever leaving the island. I'll let this picture of me after my last massage speak for itself.

Sunsets and Sunrises: A picture is worth a thousand words. Spectacular is one, and it barely suffices. Need I say more?

Bird watching: There’s such a wide variety of fascinating birds that visit the island. We even have a rare, young family of egrets nesting here. I often spend hours just watching the pelicans and sandpipers, waiting for the right moment to give them a big scare with my fiercest bark.

Weddings and Honeymoons: Many times, it seems love is in the air everywhere at Ray Caye Resort. In fact, the Travel Channel lists our resort as one of the most romantic islands in Belize. Having witnessed it myself, I have to agree.

Meeting New People: We often have visitors and guests from all over the world, and I find it enjoyable to share my stories with them, and hear theirs. And often times we find ourselves making fast friendships.

It was hard narrow down my list to just ten items. I'd love to hear what your favorite things are at Ray Caye. For now, however, I must slip out of the office before I get caught.

Until next time, stay adventurous my friends!

In 2019 Hatchet Caye changed its name to Ray Caye. Because of this, some of the older blog posts will refer to Hatchet Caye and the newer ones will refer to Ray Caye. Either way, they are the same private island you have come to love.
